Take It Away Scheme eligibility expanded

Having restricted the Take It Away interest free instrument finance scheme to 18-25 year olds from 1st April 2011 the Arts Council has recently announced that eligibility will be expanded with effect from 21st October 2011 to allow an adult over 18 to use the scheme to purchase an instrument for a child under 18.

To be eligible the applicant must be a UK resident, working at least 16 hours per week, and be either 18-25 years old, or over 18 and buying an instrument for a child under 18.

Under the Take It Away scheme an application can be made for up to £2,000 of interest free credit for the purchase of any kind of musical instrument. A 10% deposit is required with the balance paid in 9 equal monthly instalments by direct debit, completely interest free.

Equipment, accessories and music books can be included as part of the purchase so the player will have everything necessary to get started.
